With the sleet and rain over, it’s nice to be chilly without being miserable. This is Mr. Tang’s restaurant in Chinatown. I guess it’s considered a tourist kind of restaurant, but they have an awesome beef with walnut and snowpeas dish that I haven’t seen anywhere else in the neighborhood, and it’s just 6 flights of hopping and skipping down the steps from where I live!
Shop for sneakers while calling your mom
I spotted this today as I was walking up Broadway on my way to Korea Town to do a little Christmas shopping. This area within 28th and Broadway, although also near the Flower District is the place where people go to buy wholesale knockoffs, like bags and apparently, sneakers. The sidewalk is filled with cheap clothes on racks and people lugging huge garbage bags full of stuff. For some bizarre reason some guy selling his Air Gordons thought that the phone booth was an appropriate place to display his goods?

Healthy Breakfast
I got this luscious ruby red grapefruit from Wholefoods. They had samples to taste and I knew just by looking at them that they would be AWESOME! They have a natural sweetness to them so each spoon full of pulp is like swallowing Gummi Bear elixir. I only got two though because at $1.99 a pound the five dollars I spent on them could’ve been used on twice the number of grapefruit from the Chinatown fruit stands which are just as fresh and good but not organic and don’t have an electric color.

Homemade Stockings
This year I got sports socks to use as stockings so that we can give each other more random stuff and junk food that we probably don’t need in the apartment. Pill’s is on the left which he decorated with old boxer shorts, mine is second from the left and the cat and dog’s are on the right. Mia has one stuffed eyeball glued onto her stocking because that’s the eyeball that she ripped off Lulu’s shrimp toy, that craazy dog!

Empire State Building Postcard
Saw this discarded postcard on the sidewalk when walking down the Bowery today. The postcard was actually on the ground and I picked it up because I wanted to see if anyone had written anything on the back of it. Unfortunately it was blank so instead I stuck the postcard on the emergency box on the street corner.
