Sundays have become a good day for practice at Funkadelic Studios. It’s quiet and they give girl bands a 10% discount on the weekends in addition to their 2 plus 1 hour free deal. I play drums in this band.

Interesting. Today at Chipotle when having lunch with Pill these forks were the only utensils available for eating the shredded beef salad that I ordered. I find this interesting because already I have an issue with eating salad. Not the health aspect of it, but the eating aspect of it. Basically I think eating salad makes one look like a silly animal, like a dumb cow chomping on grass or a panda eating bamboo. Pandas eating bamboo is probably kind of cute but imagine a panda eating bamboo with a fork?! ha ha ha, what a baboon they would look like. Anyway, eating salad is hard enough to eat gracefully and with these blunted forks that Chipotle offers eating salad there basically felt like aimlessly moving around unwieldy pieces of vegetation and hoping that one falls upwards toward the mouth. At least Pill found one benefit of the blunted fork which is they caused no puncture wounds when he repeatedly tried to stab himself with it. Bottom line is: everyone should use chopsticks! They’re the third best invention in the use of kinetic energy, the first being bicycles and the second being pop-up books.

Usually I take my daily picture in the much later part of the day but when I saw my little basil buddy sprout this morning I figured it was worth going in to work an hour later for the sake of getting a picture in the early (that is, 10 AM) light. I had to do it today since there’s a 90% chance that this little guy won’t be around tomorrow. Does the discerning eye notice the sadly withered (dead) basil mommy in the background? That’s the result of my terrible green thumb. I pretty much thought that this plant was a goner but this sprout has renewed my hope and I will fight for it’s survival so that it can grow and sacrifice itself for a real cause like flavoring my spaghetti. My latest intervention is putting a stemless glass wine globe on top of it as a micro greenhouse.

This is my friend’s room who lives in Park Slope Brooklyn. She’s lived in this apartment for a number of years so her place is like a fantasy fairytale land back in time and you feel like a little giant because of all her antique knick knacks. The snowy landscape is a backdrop that she made for a photo shoot by xerox and now it hangs in her room.
