Exactly what I was thinking!

This is actually a great idea and my neighbors in Boro Park are geniuses.  The only thing I would suggest to improve this set up is putting padding under the pool.  The concrete is really hard so there’s no point in sitting in a pool of water when your ass is going numb.

update: I just noticed the sopping cardboard!

Accidentally Coney Island Bound

The F Train with Coney Island seen through the window

Living out in Brooklyn, I forget to check the MTA site for any changes in weekend train service and just assume that everything is running smoothly as if it were rush hour.  It happened that in my attempt to go to Manhattan this past Sunday, there was no Manhattan bound service on the D train.  Instead I had to take the train all the way into Coney Island, and take another train out of there to get into Manhattan.  As a life long New Yorker, I do enjoy these kinds of accidents because I still get to feel like I’m discovering something new in my hometown and experience the thrilling sensation of fearing for my life as I enter through areas of ghetto proper.  Also, the view of Coney Island at night is pretty swell so I figure the extended time in my commute was worth it.

PanoLab Photos

World Trade Center

World Trade Center

With the applications that are available these days for taking good (or at least interesting) candid photos on the cell phone, I rarely carry any other cameras around with me anymore.  The PanoLab application for the iPhone created the two images above, which I then Photoshoped on the phone and uploaded to this blog via the WordPress phone app.  crazy!  My consistent awe at the ability of my phone to do as much as I would normally do on my laptop computer is really more indicative of how old I am than the miracles of cellphone technology.

Also, I know I sound like a fangirl for Apple but they fixed my laptop for free even though it was 3 years old and I didn’t have an extended warranty. So, yeah.

My new home

I recently moved to Boro Park in Brooklyn.  The light in my apartment is a dream so I finally got around to taking some photos of my place when it’s most magical looking.  Nowadays the place is super cozy and warm but I’m pretty sure that it will turn into a heat bomb sauna come summer.
