Movin’

I’m leaving Brooklyn and headed to Hell’s Kitchen.  I have to move next weekend and I’ve done zero packing.  I’ve been selling a bunch of stuff on Craigslist though which is a lot of fun.  I imagine it’s about the same amount of fun as when a 90 year old lady plays the stock market online for the first time.  Is someone really going to buy the blue Ikea chair that I’ve had for 8 years for $5 dollars?!  Yes??!  SCORE!!  and they’re not a psychopath coming into my apartment they really only want the chair(s)??!! DOUBLE SCORE!!!  It’s a thrilling feeling to become unburdened while making a little bit of lunch money.

Can you tell I’m still procrastinating at this very moment since I’m still dwelling on things that are no longer in my life?!?!?!?

What happened to the daily photos

Sometimes I think how crazy it is that I went  to school to get my photography degree, yet here I am now mostly doing illustration and packaging design at work.  I created the above drawings in Illustrator for a line of bag holders that the client loved!  I still do some photography, but all of it is jewelry and not particularly creative.  I don’t even carry around a real camera anymore, but use my phone and take pictures only during memorable moments, not necessarily when I want to make something look interesting with the camera as a tool.

Other things I’ve been doing lately: trying to learn about web design, ordered a replacement keyboard and x-tra RAM for my computer, trying to get better at swimming, trying to memorize my keyboard parts.

Oh yeah and I signed up for a pickling class with MMH!

Duane reade

The fact that seeing my hometown labeled on toilet paper packaging is a source of quiet pride for me, makes me realize that I’m probably never going to leave this city.
