The scene of the Chinese New Years celebration from my rooftop, looking up and looking down.

I took this picture when we woke up today, which was when the sun was setting.

For New Years Eve we ran in the Central Park Midnight Run for the first time. The distance was only four miles and was a lot easier than I expected considering it was at midnight and a little cold. Taking pictures while running also guarantees that you get crappy pictures.

Some of the homemade food that we made and devoured over the holiday season: pumpkin pie(s), apple pie, pumpkin rum raisin pistachio bread, date cookies, oatmeal cookies, butterscotch cookies, chocolate chip cookies, wheat bread… That’s just the food we made and doesn’t include the food we bought and ate: Friendly’s ice cream, Breyer’s Vanilla and Strawberry Ice Cream, Foxwood’s Buffet, fudge, miscellaneous cookies. Phil became a Pie Master over the holiday break. I considered it as “fueling up” for the 2008 New Year’s Eve run that I’ll be doing in Central Park shortly.

I got this special ornament from Macy’s a few years ago. Anyone who would think to make a NYC pigeon as a bobble head ornament and then follow through on that brilliant idea, is a true genius. Happily this Rock Dove, Flying Rat makes an appearance this year because of the tree at the Avery’s. Does anyone notice adorable baby Pill among the other decorations?
